True Places Never Are is an award-winning play that won the Immigrants in America Theater Festival in 2024 - earning a selection at the Rogue Theater Festival at The Flea Theater. The production follows Taiwanese-Americans Youngest and Middle as they return to Taipei for Chinese New Year, confronting identity, belonging, and the emotional divide of immigration. Blending personal storytelling with political urgency and featuring an original soundtrack, the play explores guilt embedded in family expectations. The show had preview performances at The Flea Theater as part of the Rouge Theater Festival, along with a one-week preview run at The Theater for the New City under a different title (NOH, NOH).
